The group has broken the infamous seven-year curse, the period idol groups usually take before renewing or not renewing their contracts. The members initially signed their first contract during their debut with BTS ended. ARMYs supported whatever decision they made, and BTS continued its contract with HYBE Labels.

BTS signed a second contract with Big Hit (now HYBE). The first one expired in 2018, but they decided to renew it for another seven years. Bangtan Boys' contract will expire on June 13, 2027, starting in 2019, and 2 years have passed. The remaining five years can determine their future career because apart from stopping their activities if they go to military service.
BTS members may or may not renew their contracts again in 2027. It depends on the life plans of the idols because, at that time, they are already over 30 years old, but ARMY will continue to support them until the end.

Whether they will disband in 2026 is uncertain because 2026 is the end of their contract with HYBE. There are two possibilities: they will stop their career as BTS under HYBE and continue their respective professions or extend the contract. In 2026 the BTS members will be over 30 years old, except for Jungkook as the youngest BTS member because he was born in 1997 and will be 29 years old.
